This is our 1st article about our in-development game called Búzio.
Búzio is an immersive adventure game set on a mysterious island housing an ancient temple submerged underwater. Within this temple lies a legendary artifact - the magical Búzio, a flute shaped like a seashell. As players explore the temple's flooded chambers, they'll encounter intricate puzzles adorned with mystical runes and hieroglyphs. To progress, players must harness the power of the magical Búzio, deciphering the melodies required to activate each rune and unlock the temple's secrets. With each puzzle solved, the depths of the temple reveal more about its enigmatic past, offering a captivating journey of discovery and intrigue.
Our initial approach to the design concept of our game was to remove the classic "Press E to Interact". For this we took inspiration from The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time and created an instrument-playing mechanic in which the character plays notes and, through combinations of those notes, is able to interact with the world. Through this and many other design approaches, we aimed to make our game as immersive as possible.
For our concept of the island, our artist made an early mockup.
The temple was a man-made construction carved into a cave. Thus, it blends human architecture with nature to provide a unique look to the inside of this mystical temple.
Our artist also made an early mockup of the character.
Our Developer also made an early prototype with the mechanics.
