Final specs:
6gb ram
3.0ghz athlon II tricore
1tb HDD
MSI Mini-atx motherboard
ATI Radeon HD 4200 embedded video card
Final worth: $800, amount spent $250.
What we are doing is keeping it up for sale so that we can make a profit in order to build a better one.
On another note;
We are working on gaining investments for our next game, We: The Hunted.
6gb of ram, tricore? lol, my gaming computer doesn't even have 3 gigs of ram
yeah my computer im getting in 2 months will have 6 gigs of ram might get 8 when ive got the spare cash
wow, i only have a 1gb ram, AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 1.92 GHz with a 114gb hard drive and Nvidia GeForce7600 GT :|
This is about 3 of my computers strapped together lol.
Off-Topic: I see the Dollar isn't worth much, that makes me always think at the first time I look at the price that it's so much money but then I convert it to euro and I'm surprised every time...
and what exactly is the main purpose of this server build?(web server/fileserver/etc.)
@pfannkuchen_gesicht:
I've decided, since I payed for most of it, to build it up to a marketable standard, and sell for a profit in order to build a better more work-oriented server.
@horny97:
The amount that it ended up costing was really nice, I hit some great deals ;)
@l0p:
Where exactly do you live? In the USA, you can get 4gb of ram for less than $50 if you play your cards right, also, a better video card than that would cost around $20-$30. The processor is a socket A processor, which isn't used much anymore due to limitations, but that doesn't mean it can't be upgraded.
@biodude:
Since I payed for the RAM, I decided more is better, is there anything wrong with that?
soo, whats the connection bandwidth?
Base bandwidth is currently at 200gb a month, speed is at 30mb/s, I plan to maybe use my schools's network which is over 100mb/s.
lol my school's network is like... 200kb/s
My district has a massive connection, as they are directly connected to the internet, you probably only get 200kb as a user because the server only allows 200kb.
I'd bypass that.
Dude trhat comp only costs 178 dollars on DSell without ram. You mean to tell me that what that money went towards.
You don't have full specs. The type and speed of ram is not provided, the 6gb of 1333mhz ram at base price costs $150, the CPU costs $75, motherboard $100, HDD + PSU $125, case + fans is $30. $151.41 came from donations, that leaves about $330, I spent $250, using deals and local shops.
Also, what is DSell?
Please actually do research before making such ludicrous assessments.
Why exactly do we need a better build? This looks good enough for what we are doing.
We don't 'need' a better build. This computer can be improved with a good video card, the point is; we can make a better build for free, so why not?
