Prometheus - The Fire Thief is an action adventure game set in ancient Greece. It is a retro game made in the style of an NES game, and stays completely true to the NES color palette. As the player you assume control of the titan Prometheus. After stealing the fire from the Gods of mount Olympus, Prometheus must travel all across Greece and outside its borders, battling hideous mythological monsters to gain access to mount Olympus once again. Once there he seeks to have revenge on Zeus who has turned him into a mortal.
Prometheus - The Fire Thief has now been released and is available for purchase on my blog:
The beta testing gave a lot of good feedback and the game is better thanks to it. It really feels like a weight off my shoulder to finally release the game, and it'll be interesting to see what you guys think of the game.

A rip-off of The Battle of Olympus. How are you charging 10usd for this is well beyond me.
It's not a rip-off any more than Battle of Olympus is a rip-off of Zelda II if you look even slightly beyond the most superficial level. There is a post on my blog where I've gone into more detail about this. I've spent six months working on the game so to me the price is not too high but I will it into consideration.
Boss fight without a good bg music?!
The final game has good boss bg music :)
Demo was super fun. It feels a lot like an NES game but with more responsive controls and a better frame rate. Its a little too easy to just wail on enemies by mashing the attack button sometimes, but overall you've made a really cool feeling NES worship game, which is a perfectly valid pursuit
Thank you! Difficulty is hard to get right, but the enemies get harder as you progress further into the game.
Played and for a prototype looks very promising. Looking forward to it.
hey, that's pretty fun! Looks great full screen. Starting over from the beginning of the level is a drag! BUT that's how it used to be, man. The music is a nice throwback, the kick drum or 1/8th notes / ticks are somewhat harsh to listen to and seem to limit peak my computer speakers. FUN! 8/10
